Xubuntu 7.10 trifft Netgear WG111GR

guten abend!


ich habe auf meinem Siemens Fujitsu Scenic F (Pentium 3) Xubuntu 7.10 laufen. als NIC verwende ich den "Netgear 54MBit/s Wireless USB 2.0 - Adapter", ( = WG111GR)
die wlan verbindung wird flott aufgebaut, steht aber nur kurze zeit. dh nach 1 - 20 min muss ich neu mir dem router verbinden. das geht ein paar mal gut, aber dann hilft nur ein neustart der PCs. der wlan adapter ist fĂĽr usb 2.0 ausgelegt, welches der PC (denke ich mal) nicht hat. auf der netgear schachtel steht bei Systemanforderungen:
+ Freier USB 2.0- oder 1.1-Port (maximale Geschwindigkeit mit USB 2.0)

daraus folgere ich, dass es mit USB 1.1 auch einwandfrei gehen sollte, nur eben langsamer. dies ist fĂĽr mich aber kein problem, denn der router ist auf 11MBit/s eingestellt, auĂźerdem wird mit dem PC nur gesurft (Aon mit 3MBit/s) und nicht im netzwerk kopiert.
ich habe dann mittels ndiswrapper den treiber installiert (wie im ubuntu-wiki erklärt) um das problem zu beheben. leider keine veränderung.

wie kann ich dieses problem lösen?
es ist blöd, weil der fehler zufällig kommt und ich kann ihn nicht provozieren. es passiert im leerlauf wie auch beim downloaden...

Hello,

wĂĽrdest du bitte mal in einem Terminal "lshw" eintippen (notfalls wenn es nicht drauf is nach installieren zB. als root mit "apt-get lshw") und dort die Info ĂĽber dein WLAN Device hierher kopieren.
Grund ist, es gibt mehrere Chipsätze bei diesen Modell.
Output schaut zB. (wie bei mir) so aus

Interessant wäre es zu wissen welcher chipsatz da oben ist.
Wenns ein Prism wäre, würde ich den Treiber vom prism54.org probieren.

Kannst Du bitte mal "dmesg" komplett rein kopieren?

Was sagen das Forum bzw. das Wiki von Ubuntuusers.de dazu? Um das Wiki möglichst allgemein zu halten ist dort vieles eher kurz gehalten. Sehr oft findet man eine genauere Antwort erst bei der Suche im Forum. Mir ging es bisher immer so.

Ich sehe ndiswrapper als letzter Ausweg wenn alle Stricke reiĂźen.
Also es gibt Treiber fĂĽr Linux, allerdings verschiedene Varianten welche zu installieren.
Die Frage ist wie fit Du in Linux bist.
Der Chipsatz ist ein Realtek rtl8187, folgende Seiten gibt es dazu

Original Treiber gibt es bei Realtek unter

und hier gibt es noch eine Möglichkeit den Treiber direkt in den Kernel zu integrieren.
